After finishing second at the Guarapari Blue Marlin Tournament with a 385 pound Blue Marlin taken on a Black Bart 1656 lure, Jos้ Roberto V. Wagners team won both fishing days at the Cabo Frio Blue Marlin Invitational Tournament. Above, are the tournament winning catches - a 313 Kg (689 pounds) blue marlin (left) taken during the first day of fishing on a Marlin Magic Big Dog and a 575 Kg (1268 pounds) blue marlin (right) taken on a Joe Yee Apollo "Evil" during the second day.
All fishes were taken on 130 ST Penn Reels.
The last fish became the largest blue Marlin ever taken in a Tournament and it was 28 Kg ( 61 pounds) heavier than the last largest taken in this same Tournament two years ago.
With these two fish, they won all possible honors at the Cabo Frio Tournament:
